The year is quickly coming to an end, we only have 12 days left of school. It's hard to believe. We have many fun and exciting events coming up including our talent show, field day, the annual fifth grade bowling field trip and other end of the year celebrations. Students have accomplished many things this year and have shown a lot of growth both personally and academically. All students saw growth on their MAP tests and majority of students were able to meet their growth targets, exceeding our classroom goal of 70%.

I hope you enjoy the extended holiday weekend and find some time to relax!

Spring MAP testing starts next week for room 314. The schedule below outlines the days and times the tests will take place. Students should get a good night sleep and eat a healthy breakfast prior to the test. I have also encouraged them to be working on Compass Learning and Scoot Pad to review the concepts that we have worked on this year. We are calling it their study guide for the test! Students have made wonderful gains and I look forward to celebrating their success on the tests.

We are continuing our inquiry unit on forms of energy. We have been learning about how sound travels. We did an experiment to show how vibrations make sound and Mr. Ivanyos taught us about sound in relation to the guitar!

Room 314

Have a wonderful spring break. Hopefully the weather warms up so we can all enjoy some much needed time outside! School resumes on Monday, April 8th. Students should come back geared up to work hard during the final stretch before Spring MAP testing.

It has been a fun week at Jefferson! Not only did the students do an amazing job singing in the concert but they also got to participate in a Radio Disney Assembly. Check out the pictures from both of these great events!

Today our guest reader was Bret Buganski, a reporter from FOX 6 news. He read us Dr. Seuss' book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. He also shared with us what steps he took in order to pursue his career goal.

A big thank you goes out to Bret and FOX 6!
