Today in our classroom we did an algebra post test, everyone did a good job improving from their pretest.

In daily 5 we read an article on Scholastic.com about who won the presidential race according to students' votes in the Scholastic election. We voted in it earlier this month.

Remember:
-Monday is pink day
-Tuesday is Jefferson wear/colors day and band members need to be at school at 7:55 for practice.
-Wednesday is parent-teacher conferences for those of you who Ms. McGrorty scheduled a    conference with.

Yesterday at McCarty Park, Jazlyn Ramos and Robert Hernadez both got 11th place in the cross country run. Today we learned that Nathan Nobs got the top score in the state of Wisconsin on Achieve 3000!!

We continued algebra but today the concepts were a bit more challenging. Don't forget it is pod color day tomorrow so wear your green. Also in work on writing everyone finished their conference with Ms. McGrorty.

In our class at math we continued to work on algebra and patterns. At daily 5 we did an achieve article on the economy and continued congress for kids. For wow (work on writing) today we did a conference with Ms. McGrorty on our opinion paper and for word work we completed our synonyms and added a new synonym game on our ipads.

Today we had a PBIS/TRIBES assembly and the following students got a star power award:

Hayden Yearian and Jesse Freeland.

We continued to learn about government on the Congress for Kids website. In SEL, 5th grade worked on the individual planning conference booklet and the 4th graders did career booklets where they sorted jobs. Also, Hayden Yearian got a pat on the back award from Ms.Prekop for being a good listener the whole time in class. In reading we read an achieve article called "What's in a Name". Math was exciting today because we learned about how algebra is just like finding missing numbers and for Writer's Workshop we wrote our final drafts of our opinion papers.

Tomorrow is Bear Wear Day. Wear school colors or your spirit wear!
